Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Show and shop listings
Shows are sent in by organizers and collectors; shop details are checked on each shop's own website. We publish business information only: a show's name, dates, venue and organizer, or a shop's name, address, phone and hours. If a listing shows your personal information, use “Report a problem” on it or see removing a listing, and we take it down.
What we collect from you
- Account: your email, name and a hashed password, so you can manage your listings.
- Listings you add or claim: the show or shop details you submit. These are public.
- Show submissions: your name and email, so we can tell you when the show is live. These are never shown on the site.
- Sell-your-collection requests: your name, email, phone (if you give it), area and what you are selling. We share them only with the buyer who handles your area, and never publish them.
- Claims: the email you claim with, your role, and any note or document you attach. Documents are visible only to our staff and are deleted once the claim is decided.
- Reports and contact messages: what you write, and your email if you give one.
- Newsletter: your email and the consent you gave, only if you opt in. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Payments: Featured purchases are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Cookies, analytics and ads
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, and Google AdSense to show ads on our guides, which pays for the free listings. Show and shop pages carry no ads. Both set cookies. You can opt out of personalised Google ads in your Google ad settings. A sign-in cookie keeps you logged in.
Who we share it with
Service providers that run the site for us: our hosting provider, Resend (email), Stripe (payments), Google (analytics and ads), CARTO and OpenStreetMap (map tiles) and Cloudflare (bot protection). We don't sell personal information.
Your rights
You can see, correct or delete your account information from your dashboard, or ask us to by email at hello@cardshowsandshops.com. We answer within 30 days.
